Why a clogged dryer vent matters
Every load pushes warm, damp air and fine lint out through the vent. The lint trap catches most of it, not all of it. What slips past settles along the duct, at every bend and at the outside cap, until the air has nowhere to go. The dryer runs longer, the drum runs hotter, and the clothes still come out damp.
Florida makes it worse. The air is humid most of the year, so lint goes into the duct damp and packs down instead of blowing through. Birds and wasps like a warm exterior vent, too. A nest in the cap can block a vent that was clean a few months ago.
Signs your vent needs cleaning:
- Clothes need a second cycle to dry
- The top of the dryer or the laundry room gets hot while it runs
- A burning or musty smell when the dryer is on
- Lint around the outside vent cap, or a flap that no longer opens
- Nobody has cleaned the vent in more than a year
What happens at a residential visit
We measure first
Before we touch anything, we measure the airflow at the outside vent with the dryer running. That number is your before.
We clean the whole run
We clean the duct end to end, from the dryer connection to the exterior cap, and we clean the cap itself. The lint trap housing and the dryer's exhaust port get cleaned too, and we pull the dryer out and put it back.
We measure again
With the dryer running, we measure the airflow at the same spot. You see both numbers side by side.
You get a written report
Before we leave, you get a written report: what we found, what we did, and both airflow readings. If a duct is crushed, disconnected or simply too long, the report says so.
Premium adds a bore-scope look along the full run and a deep clean inside the dryer, the bottom pan and the area around the motor, where lint collects after it slips past the trap.
One flat rate, shown before you book
A residential cleaning is one flat rate for the whole vent run. Not per foot, not per hour, and no charge for the number of bends. Extras apply only where your home needs them, and you see every price before you book.

Houses, townhouses and villas across Palm Beach County
Single-family houses, townhouses, villas and duplexes are the core of what we do. A dryer on an outside wall usually has a short run straight out. A laundry room in the middle of the house can run up through the attic or under the floor to the roof, with several bends, and that is where most of the buildup sits. We clean both kinds the same way, for the same price.
Living in a condo or a high-rise? The vent there often joins a building system, and part of it may belong to the association. Ask us when you book and we will tell you what we can clean.
How often to clean a dryer vent
For most households, once a year. A large family, pets, or a long run with several bends can need it every six months. Our guide to how often Florida homes should clean their dryer vents goes through how to tell which schedule fits yours.
Questions about residential cleaning
How long does a residential dryer vent cleaning take?
About 45 minutes for most homes. A long roof run can take a little longer.
Do I need to be home?
Yes, or someone who can let us in. We run the dryer to measure the airflow before and after.
Do you move the dryer?
Yes. We pull it out, clean behind it, and put it back.
Do you repair or reroute vents?
No. We clean and inspect. If a duct needs repair or rerouting, the report says where and why, so you can have it fixed.
