Roof dryer vent cleaning for long runs
In a bigger house the laundry room is often on an inside wall or upstairs, so the vent travels through the attic and out through the roof. Every elbow and climb is a place for lint to settle, and a long run has less room for a buildup before the dryer slows down.
We clean the full length, from the dryer connection to the roof cap or wall hood, and measure the airflow at the outlet itself, not just at the back of the dryer. If part of the run can't be reached safely, the report says so plainly.
Barn clothes, saddle pads and towels
Wellington's Equestrian Preserve covers approximately 9,200 acres, and plenty of households here wash saddle pads, barn clothes and heavy towels.
Those loads shed more lint and hair than everyday clothes. If that is your laundry, the vent fills faster, and a cleaning every six months may make more sense than once a year.
What every visit includes
- The full vent run cleaned, end to end
- Lint trap housing and dryer exhaust port cleaned
- Airflow measured before and after
- The outside hood or roof cap checked
- A written report you keep
Choose Premium to add a deep clean inside the dryer and a dryer vent inspection with a camera along the entire run.
Signs your vent is struggling
Loads that need a second cycle, a laundry room that gets hot, and clothes that come out damp are the usual signs. On a two-story house, you may also spot lint on the roof around the cap, or notice the hood flap never opens.
How the visit goes
We arrive in the window you picked, pull the dryer out and take the first airflow reading at the outlet with the dryer running. On a long run, that first number can be lower than you would expect.
Then we clean the dryer duct in sections, from the dryer end toward the outside, and clear the lint trap housing and the dryer port. On a roof run we clean from both ends where we can reach them safely. We reconnect the dryer, check the transition duct behind it is not crushed, and take the second reading.
You see both numbers before we leave, and the written report records them with anything we noticed, like a hood that does not close or a section we could not reach. Most homes take about 45 minutes.
